Digit Murphy
The hockey world is small. Digit was Katie King Crowley’s coach when she played for Brown University. Jeff and Digit met at the Noble and Greenough School where their children attend. Digit is an expert in girls hockey. The on-ice sessions will be focussed on skill development and high tempo game situations following the USA Hockey ADM model of player development. Her ring of fire camps are game changers for all girls. Katie King Crowley credits her for much of her development during her formative D1 hockey days at Brown before going on to playing in three Olympic Games earning gold, silver and bronze medals. Off-ice, we seek to educate young girls about women’s issues, leadership, anti-bullying, how to interact with coaches, how to be a good teammate ,and bystander leadership, as well as how to navigate the college search process (for the high school aged girls). Digit Murphy is the current head coach and GM of the Boston Blades women’s pro hockey team in the CWHL. Coach Murphy coached at the NCAA Division I level for 24 years and became the winningest coach ever during her tenure at Brown University. She has been a longtime advocate for women and women’s issues.
