Massachusetts All Summer Training

Summer Hockey Mindset

Summer is when separation happens. The players who show up every week, stay focused, and put in honest work are the ones who come back to tryouts in September looking like a different player. That's the mindset. It's not complicated. Show up, engage fully, and log the hours.

Planning matters too. Look at the full schedule below and map out where you're going to be. Don't just pick one camp and call it a summer. Stack your training intentionally so you're building on what you learned week to week.

Massachusetts Summer Training Overview

We run camps across Massachusetts and into Rhode Island all summer long. Commuter spots are available at our Boarding Camps locations at Boston University, MA Maritime Academy on Cape Cod, and Hockey Surf at URI. The AAA Hockey East location at Providence College is a commuter camp only.

This summer we're bringing in professional European youth skill development coaches from Prague to work alongside our full-time staff at BU and MA Maritime. These coaches bring a different perspective on skating mechanics and puck handling that our players don't typically see during the regular season. Our Goalie Director Austyn Roudebush will also be on site at both locations. Goalies get real, dedicated coaching here, not just something bolted onto the end of skater sessions.

June Camps

Canton
June 16-19. A strong way to open your summer. Get your feet under you early and start building good habits before the bigger sessions.

MA Maritime (First Session)
June 22-26. Our Cape Cod location gives players a focused environment away from distractions. Boarding campers get more ice time, more repetitions, and more time to absorb what they're working on.

Haverhill
June 23-26. Bruins location. Quality ice and quality coaching for players in the north shore area looking for a local option with a high standard of instruction.

Boston University and URI Hockey Surf (First Sessions)
June 29 through July 4. Two strong options running the same week. BU is one of our flagship locations with AAA Hockey East programming. URI Hockey Surf is a unique camp that blends hockey skill development with a competitive, high-energy environment. Pick the one that fits your situation or talk to us about building a summer that includes both.

MA Maritime (Second Session) and Warrior Arena
June 30 through July 3-4. A second chance to get to Cape Cod before July, and a Bruins location option at Warrior Arena running the same stretch.

July Camps

West Roxbury
July 7-10. Girls camp. Female players deserve focused development time with coaches who understand the game at a high level. This is that.

Attleboro
July 7-10. Bruins location. Good mid-summer option for players in the south shore and surrounding areas.

Providence College
July 7-10. AAA Hockey East commuter camp. College rinks create a different atmosphere for younger players. It raises the standard in the room.

Boston University (Second Session)
July 14-18. A second BU session for players who want more. If you went in late June, come back. Repetition over a summer builds muscle memory that sticks.

Marlboro
July 21-24. Mid-state option for players who want quality coaching without a long drive.

Hyannis
July 28-31. End of July on the Cape. A great way to close out the main summer run before transitioning into preseason prep work.

August Camps

Newton Fessenden School
August 4-7. Bruins location. August is when you need to sharpen up, not coast. Players who use this week well come into fall skating better than they left spring.

Pre-Season Specialty Prep Camps

These camps are built differently. By mid-August, the season is close. These sessions are about dialing in position-specific skills, tightening your compete level, and arriving at tryouts ready to perform. Don't treat these like regular summer camps. Come in locked in.

  • Andover, August 11-14
    - Bourne, August 11-14
    - Natick, August 11-14
    - Newburyport, August 18-21
    - Falmouth, August 25-28

Small Group Sunday Skills, Falmouth

Every weekend in Falmouth. Small group work is where real skill development happens. You get more reps, more direct feedback, and more time to fix the things that don't get addressed in full-group sessions. If you're in the Cape area on Sundays, this is worth building into your routine.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a boarding camp and a commuter camp?

Boarding camps include housing and meals on site so players are fully immersed in the training environment. Commuter camps are day programs where players drive in for sessions and go home at night. Both offer the same quality of coaching. Boarding typically gives players more total ice time and a more intensive experience overall.

Are these camps appropriate for all skill levels or mainly elite players?

We work with players at multiple levels. The AAA Hockey East programming at BU and Providence College is designed for players competing at higher levels, but many of our other locations are built to develop serious players across a range of experience. If you're not sure which camp is the right fit, reach out and we'll point you in the right direction.

What should my son or daughter focus on at these camps if they want to get better quickly?

Focus on skating first. Everything else in hockey is easier when your edges are sharp and your stride is efficient. Come to every session with one or two specific things you're working on, not just a general idea of getting better. Players who show up with a target improve faster than players who show up hoping something clicks.

How do the European coaches from Prague fit into the program?

They work alongside our full-time staff at BU and MA Maritime. European youth development has a strong track record of producing skilled, technically sound players. Our players benefit from exposure to those methods combined with the North American compete-level approach we build into everything we do.
