Jeff Serowik’s path ran through New England hockey: prep school at Lawrence Academy, then Providence College, where he earned a degree in finance. He went on to play professional hockey for over a decade, with NHL stints with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Boston Bruins, plus years in the AHL and elite European leagues.

He was a defenseman who earned his career not on raw talent alone, but on preparation, competitive intensity, and a relentless commitment to getting better. With the Providence Bruins he won the Eddie Shore Award as the AHL’s best defenseman and set the league record for most goals by a defenseman in a single season, a record that still stands. He has since been inducted into the New Hampshire Legends of Hockey Hall of Fame.

When he transitioned out of professional hockey, he brought that same mindset to coaching. What he saw in youth hockey bothered him: camps with too many players, not enough coaches, generic drills that didn’t challenge anyone, and instruction that felt more like babysitting than development. He knew he could do better, and that serious players deserved better.

In 1994, Pro Ambitions Hockey launched with a simple premise: run camps the way professional teams prepare players. Low ratios. High intensity. No wasted ice time. Real feedback, given directly, by coaches who’d played the game at the highest level. The response was immediate. Word spread through the New England hockey community, and within a few years, Pro Ambitions had become the gold standard for youth hockey camp instruction in Massachusetts.

Three decades later, Pro Ambitions operates in 30+ states and multiple international destinations, has trained over 100,000 players, and has been recognized by Sports Illustrated as the #1 youth hockey camp in the United States. The mission hasn’t changed: give every serious young player the best possible chance to reach their potential.
