Congratulations to the 2024 Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookies of the Year Macklin Celebrini and Sammy Taber. Both continuing to set the bar for excellence in hockey and incredibly fun to watch now in the NHL and Hockey East.

These are the players younger kids should be studying. Watch how they move without the puck, how they process the game under pressure, how they compete when it matters most. Rookies of the Year do not happen by accident. They happen because someone put in the reps long before anyone was watching.

Our Summer AAA Development Camps

AAA at Providence College, July 7-10

PC is a commuter camp, which works well for families in the region who want elite development without the overnight commitment. We welcome Coach Leaman on the ice annually at PC. That kind of access, a sitting Hockey East head coach working directly with youth players, is something you are not going to find at most camps. Come ready to work.

AAA at Boston University, June 29 to July 4 and July 13 to 18

BU runs as both commuter and boarding, so players coming from outside the area have a full residential option. Our European professional youth skill development coaches return again this summer from Prague. These are coaches who work within a completely different hockey culture and bring technical details to skating and puck skills that most American kids have never been exposed to. That outside perspective sharpens your game in ways you do not expect.

What Makes These Camps Different

We bring in a sport psychologist, an NHL analyst who lectures on positioning, and a Navy SEAL mental toughness coach. That is not a gimmick. Hockey is a mental game as much as a physical one, and the players who last at the highest levels have learned to manage pressure, process mistakes quickly, and stay locked in through an 80-game season. We want your kid to start building that capacity now, not when they get to college.

What age groups are the Pro Ambitions summer camps designed for?

We train players from mites on up. The curriculum adjusts to where each age group is developmentally, so a younger player is not getting the same instruction as a player preparing for a Hockey East program. If you are unsure which camp fits your child, book a complimentary coach call and we will walk you through it honestly.

What is the difference between the Providence College and Boston University camps?

PC runs as a commuter camp only, which works well for local families. BU offers both commuter and boarding options, making it accessible for players traveling from outside the Boston area. The coaching staff and curriculum are elite at both locations, but BU adds the residential experience and our Prague-based European coaching staff, which brings a different technical perspective to the ice.

Why does Hockey East produce so many top-level college and NHL players?

The conference holds every program accountable to a high standard. When you are playing against that level of competition week in and week out, the weaker habits get exposed fast. Programs in Hockey East recruit, develop, and coach with the NHL in mind. Players like Macklin Celebrini do not come out of nowhere. They come out of systems built to push them.

How do I know if a development camp is actually worth it?

Look at who is on the ice coaching, not just the names in the brochure. Look at what the curriculum actually addresses: skating, compete level, positioning, mental preparation.
