John Stevens the ’The Hockey News’ NHL Coach of the Year and 2 time Stanley Cup winner..

“I would like to wish Stephen Wood all the best in his new endeavor of teaching kids the mental side of hockey. I had Stephen as a young player coming out of college. He had strong abilities that allowed him to play at the AHL level and be a good player. Like every player at that level there is still a lot of development that needs to take place to get to the NHL and play the game at the highest level. Stephen never did make it to the NHL but he didnt make excuses or blame anyone outside himself. Instead he became a good student of the game. He was honest with his own assessment and he had the ability to pull back, analyze the process of what it takes to play at the highest level and put together a plan to help aspiring young players reach their dream. The fact that he was always a good teammate will help him relate to todays player. He has experience playing at the college level, Pro level and European level. He has a well-rounded background of playing experience and the passion necessary to help direct players to the next level. Hockey is a great game and I encourage you all to enjoy the process!

Jack Parker, Legendary Boston University coach…  Steve Wood is such a good kid, he’s a great leader and always seems to get the big goal against us”

Paul Pooley, Former Providence College Coach,  current associate head coach of Notre Dame…“He’s grown a lot as a person. We’re very proud of his development NOT ONLY AS A HOCKEY PLAYER BUT AS A PERSON.  Stephen has grown as an individual- and that’s what your in it for, to see kids like that develop.”

Longtime U-lowell and U-Maine head coach.  Currently coach at KUA, Tim Whitehead…“Steve has been a very solid two-way player…I am very impressed with his complete game”
